The Nok culture has been recently discovered in an ancient Nok city found by archaeologists. This is an exciting discovery by archaeologists since this culture has been lost for thousands of years. It is thought that this culture was on of the first to use terracotta, and archaeologists believe that the government should help protect these ruins. As a result, the government with the aid of other private organizations has agreed to protect it.
Reading this article, I feel glad that both this culture has been found and is being protected by the government of Nigeria. Lost cultures can give everyone a great idea of how certain traditions/rituals came to be. Also, it is just good in general to know your culture of the origins of your culture as to understand why they came to be.
This article pertains to a cultural aspect of Nigeria because it discusses the preservation of a lost culture. Cultures can be easily lost if not taken care of or if just forgotten completely. It is very impervious that this culture is preserved so that people may study it and make new discoveries.
